Yallah Speak was born from a simple frustration: most Arabic learning tools teach a version of the language that nobody actually speaks. We set out to change that.
Most language apps teach Modern Standard Arabic — the formal version used in news and books. But nobody speaks MSA in real life. When you land in Cairo, Amman, or Casablanca, people speak their local dialect. And those dialects can be as different from MSA as Spanish is from Latin.
On top of that, most apps focus on reading and translating, not speaking. You match words to pictures, tap buttons, collect points — and after months of practice, you still can't hold a basic conversation.
We knew there had to be a better way.
Yallah Speak puts conversation at the center of everything. From your very first lesson, you're not watching — you're speaking. Our AI conversation partner responds naturally in your chosen dialect, corrects your mistakes, and scores your pronunciation in real time.
We built the app around what language science actually recommends: active speaking practice, in the specific dialect you need, with immediate feedback, every single day. Research from MIT, Harvard, and decades of linguistics confirms that this approach builds neural pathways faster than any amount of flashcards or translation exercises.
People from over 40 countries use Yallah Speak to connect with Arabic — for family, travel, faith, or curiosity. Every one of them started with the same first step.
Fouad El Ajouaoui as Founder & Developer and Zakaria N. as Co-Founder. Two people who believe Arabic learning deserves better tools — built with personal experience, not venture capital.
From Indonesia to Germany, from Turkey to the US — learners across the globe use Yallah Speak to connect with Arabic and the cultures behind it.
Yallah Speak was founded by Fouad El Ajouaoui and Zakaria N. — both based in Germany with Moroccan roots. Growing up between two cultures and languages, they experienced firsthand how difficult it is to find tools that teach the Arabic people actually speak.Fouad El Ajouaoui, a developer based in Germany with Moroccan roots. Growing up between two cultures and languages, Fouad experienced firsthand how difficult it is to find tools that teach the Arabic people actually speak — not the formal version from textbooks.
That shared frustration became the driving force behind Yallah Speak. Every feature, every dialect, every design decision comes from the belief that language learning should connect people to real conversations, not just pass exams.
Fouad leads development — designing the app, building the AI systems, and curating vocabulary across 10+ dialects. Zakaria drives the vision and strategy as Co-Founder. Together, they're building something shaped by personal experience, not a boardroom.
Arabic connects over 400 million people across the Middle East and North Africa. It carries rich cultural heritage, deep family ties, and enormous professional opportunities. Yet for most learners, it remains frustratingly out of reach — not because the language is impossible, but because the tools available don't match how it actually works.
We're building the app we wish existed when we started learning. One that respects the diversity of Arabic dialects. One that makes you speak from day one. One that gives you honest feedback on your pronunciation. And one that's accessible to learners everywhere, regardless of their native language.
Yallah means "let's go" in Arabic. That's exactly what we're here for.
