Yallah Speak was born from a simple frustration: most Arabic learning tools teach a version of the language that nobody actually speaks. We set out to change that.
Most language apps teach Modern Standard Arabic — the formal version used in news and books. But nobody speaks MSA in real life. When you land in Cairo, Amman, or Casablanca, people speak their local dialect. And those dialects can be as different from MSA as Spanish is from Latin.
On top of that, most apps focus on reading and translating, not speaking. You match words to pictures, tap buttons, collect points — and after months of practice, you still can't hold a basic conversation.
We knew there had to be a better way.

Yallah Speak was founded by Fouad El Ajouaoui and Zakaria N. — both based in Germany with Moroccan roots. That shared frustration became the driving force behind Yallah Speak. Every feature, every dialect, every design decision comes from the belief that language learning should connect people to real conversations, not just pass exams.
Fouad leads development — designing the app, building the AI systems, and curating vocabulary across 10+ dialects. Zakaria drives the vision and strategy as Co-Founder. Together, they're building something shaped by personal experience, not a boardroom.
Arabic connects over 400 million people across the Middle East and North Africa. It carries rich cultural heritage, deep family ties, and enormous professional opportunities. Yet for most learners, it remains frustratingly out of reach — not because the language is impossible, but because the tools available don't match how it actually works.
